School Board

Updates as of November 14, 2016 : 


Site Search – Continuing to pursue options for moving our school to a location with more space. 


Development - Zoo confirmed for auction of 2017. Looking to get new parents interested in helping with grant writing.


Charter Renewal – The charter renewal process was a success.  Arco Iris had its charter extended by BSD for 6 more years.  The committee will rest until January 2021.


Parent Survey - Results from the survey are in and being reviewed for summary and use in creating improvement plans.  Both summarized results and improvement plans will be shared soon.    


Workgroups – The Grant Writing, Strategic Planning and Technology teams continue to look for members.  If want to get involved and you are interested in joining one of these workgroups please contact the board at




  • Fresh n' Local selected as the lunch vendor for 2016/2017.  



  • Janine Greenley joined the board in September in an educator role.
  • Rob Timmons joined the board and became the treasurer.
  • Carrie Kirchner joined the board in an educator role.



The Arco Iris School Board meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00pm at the school. School board meetings, working sessions, and special meetings are open to the public.  Agendas for meetings are posted within 24 hours of the meeting. Minutes are posted after review and board approval (typically the following month).

Executive sessions are not public meetings, and are held for specific purposes as allowed under ORS 192.660. Executive Session may precede Board Meetings as needed.
