BDBT Procedures

Late Pick Ups
Late pick ups will incur a $25 fee plus $10 for every 15 minutes past 5:30 p.m.
 
Pick-up Policies and Procedures
Children will not be released to an parent/guardian that is not listed on the child’s enrollment form or who does not have a Pick up Authorization Form on file with the program. Once a child has been picked up, parents should ensure that the child remains under their direct supervision while on school property and follow the school rules.
 
Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick Up
To drop off students in the morning, please park and walk. You must sign your student in when you drop them off. Students have to be accompanied by an adult when signing into the program in the morning. Students enrolled in the program can be dropped off until 8:00am the latest. Any student that is not registered for the before and after school program will not be let into the building until 8:15 am.

Approved adults picking up their children from the program must check in with the program caregiver and sign out their child. Parents are expected to pick up their children no later than 5:30pm or a late fee will be charged. Phone calls to notify our staff of a late pick-up are appreciated, but will not exempt a late charge. 

Use the pick up authorization form to add additional persons other than the legal parent/guardian to the authorized pick up list. For last minute pick ups during the afternoon, please call 971-217-1645.

Payment Policies
Payments are due by the first of the month, for the current month.  Arco Iris will not provide refunds if students do not attend due to illness, vacation, inclement weather or any school closures. Scheduled days that are not used during the week do not roll over. 

Cancellation For Scheduled Enrollment
An email advising services are no longer needed must be sent to [email protected]  two weeks prior to next month’s billing cycle to cancel scheduled services. 

Returned Checks
You will be charged $30.00 if your check is returned by the bank for any reason. If there are two non-sufficient checks, you will be required to pay future payments using money orders 

Past Due Accounts
  • Accounts must be paid in full in order for students to attend the program.
  • Accounts that are past due more than 30 days: Arco Iris School will discontinue childcare services immediately until the account is paid in full. Please contact the program supervisor to get reinstated by either making a full payment or establishing a payment plan if necessary. 
Expulsion Policy
There are sometimes reasons we have to expel a child from our program either on a short term or permanent basis. We want you to know we will do everything possible to work with the family of the child (ren) in order to prevent this policy from being enforced. The following are reasons we may have to terminate or suspend a child from this program.
 
Immediate Causes for Expulsion
  • The child is at risk of causing serious injury to other children or himself/herself.
  • Parent threatens physical or intimidating actions toward staff members.
  • Parent exhibits verbal abuse to staff
 
Parental Actions for Child’s Expulsion
    • Failure to pay/habitual lateness in payments
    • Habitual tardiness when picking up your child. 
    • Physical or verbal abuse to staff
    • Other (explain)
 
Child’s Actions for Expulsion
  • Failure of child to adjust after a reasonable amount of time.
  • Uncontrollable tantrums/angry outbursts.
  • Ongoing physical or verbal abuse to staff or other children.
  • Biting
  • Other (explain)
 
Proactive Actions That Will Be Taken In Order To Prevent Expulsion
  • Staff will try to redirect children from negative behavior.
  • Staff will reassess after school environment, appropriate activities, supervision.
  • Staff will always use positive methods and language while disciplining children.
  • Staff will praise appropriate behaviors.
  • Staff will consistently apply consequences for rules.
  • Child will be given verbal warnings.
  • A brief time-out will be given so the child can regain control.
  • Child may lose certain privileges (Explain).
  • Child’s disruptive behavior will be documented and maintained in confidentiality.
  • Parent/guardian will be notified verbally.
  • Parent/guardian will be given written copies of the disruptive behaviors that might lead to expulsion.
  • The Director / Program Coordinator, classroom staff and parent/guardian will have a conference(s) to discuss how to promote positive behaviors.
  • Recommendations of evaluation by professional consultation on premises.
  • Recommendation of evaluation by local school district child study team.
 
Schedule of Expulsion
  • If after the remedial actions above have not worked, the child’s parent/guardian will be advised verbally and in writing about the child’s or parent’s behavior warranting an expulsion. An expulsion action is meant to be a period of time so that the parent/guardian may work on the child’s behavior or to come to an agreement with the center.
  • The Parent/guardian will be informed regarding the length of the expulsion period.
  • The parent/guardian will be informed about the expected behavioral changes required in order for the child or parent to return to the center.
  • The parent/guardian will be given a specific expulsion date that allows the parent an adequate amount of time to seek alternate child care 
  • Approximately 48 hour notice or immediate expulsion  depending on risk to other children’s welfare or safety
  • Failure of the child/parent to satisfy the terms of the plan may result in permanent expulsion from the center.
