Christa works in the International Trade Field dealing with US Customs regulations.  She recently served as Vice President on the School Board and also served on the Arco Iris PTO as the Treasurer and Fundraising VP.  Her professional work experience in finance and the finance of our PTO make her a great asset to the board as a finance member.  She comes to us with 8 years of non-profit organization experience.  She previously served as President and other various board positions at an international non-profit organization.  Christa and her husband Brock, currently have 2 daughters attending Arco Iris.  Their oldest child previously attended Arco Iris and is now attending ACMA.

Sarita Stevens: sarita.stevens@arcoirisschool.org

Sarita Stevens is currently the President Project Manager with Drive Interactive managing digital marketing, web design and social media for a diverse range of medium size businesses and non-profit organizations across the Portland Metro Area. She served in various roles in marketing with other firms. She has obtained a masters certificate in digital marketing along with a masters in business administration. Sarita currently has one student attending Arco Iris in second grade.

Rob Timmons: rob.timmons@arcoirisschool.org

(Finance), Treasurer: (board term 10/2016 – 7/2020)

Rob Timmons is the Director of Finance and Operations at The International School (TIS), an independent elementary school based in Downtown Portland, a position he has held for over 14 years, with prior experience as Director of Finance for Sake One Corporation and Branch Manager at First National Bank & Trust.  Rob has also served on the Boards of the Beaverton Sister City Foundation and the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO).  Rob is a native of Columbia, Missouri, having graduated from Mizzou with a BA in International Studies, and from William Woods University with an MBA.  Rob has a daughter attending 3rd grade at TIS and a son attending 8th grade at the International School of Beaverton.

Sara Marx: sara.marx@arcoirisschool.org

A native of Seattle, Sara has lived in Oregon for almost a decade with her husband Jason. Sara has held project management and executive assistant roles in the finance, education, and retail sectors, including work at Nike/Nike Foundation and her current position at Beneficial State Bank. It was in these roles that Sara cultivated a passion for community giving and corporate social responsibility and developed extensive experience supporting corporate and non-profit Boards. She holds a B.A. from Smith College and a Project Management certificate from OSU and enjoys contributing to Arco Iris where her daughter is attending first grade.

Carrie Kirschner: carrie.kirschner@arcoirisschool.org

Carrie Kirschner graduated from San Francisco State University with a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential and an emphasis on Early Childhood Education. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades and served as Language Arts Mentor for Soquel Union School District. She is passionate about reading and teaching students to be lifelong learners. Carrie is happy to share her knowledge of language development and curriculum adoption and training with Arco Iris. Currently Carrie is the Assistant Coordinator of Education at Havurah Shalom. She and her husband Mitchell have 2 children that previously attended Arco Iris.

Mario Barron: mario.barron@arcoirisschool.org

Mario has been an Oregonian since 1995 when he relocated from Southern California. Mario is fluent in Spanish and English. He has worked for Costco Wholesale for 13 years, where he has held multiple management positions, including Food Court, Membership/Marketing, and Front End. For the last three years, Mario has been a licensed Hearing aid dispenser for Costco. Mario and His wife Jessie, have a daughter Ruby, who will be entering Kinder in 2019.

Rafe Christopherson: rafe.christopherson@arcoirisschool.org

(Project Manager): (board term 8/2018 – 7/2021)

 

Rafe Christopherson is a Senior Environmental Engineer at Intel specializing in air permitting and quality.  In his role as an Environmental Engineer at Intel, Rafe is required to understand and interpret local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations.  Rafe also develops programs and standards that are used by Intel for its Oregon operations as well as operations at other sites around the world.  He serves as the chair in the company-wide Air Working Group and is also a registered Professional Engineer.  Prior to Intel, Rafe worked as a regulator in Washington state, an environmental consultant in Washington and Illinois, and an Environmental Manager in the biofuels industry in the midwest.  Rafe's work history will bring expertise to the governance committee.  Rafe and his wife Leticia currently have two daughters attending Arco Iris who are in the 4th and 8th grades for the 2019-20 school year.

Leah Anderson: leah.anderson@arcoirisschool.org

Leah Anderson is an educator/school counselor with a Masters in Social Work and School Counseling. Leah had the experience with Spanish immersion through her previous work with Arco Iris. She is currently licensed in PreK-12 education and works in the Salem-Kiezer School District. Leah is passionate about being a board member and is excited to help Arco's community thrive. She lives with her husband, two cats and one dog in Beaverton.

Shagun TrivediShagun.Trivedi@arcoirisschool.org 

(Finance): (board term 5/2019 – 5/2022)

 

Shagun has been working as Audit Manager with Umpqua Bank for the last 5 years.  Previous to that she has worked in various auditing and accounting functions with publicly traded entities.  Her professional work experience in accounting and audit makes her a good fit as a finance member of the board.  She holds a B.B.A from University of Houston and is a certified financial services auditor (CFSA). She is excited about the opportunity to contribute to Arco Iris. Shagun and her husband Avinash, have a daughter attending 9th grade and a son attending 2nd grade at BSD.

The Board email is monitored by 3-4 board members, one of whom will respond to you, or route your question to the most appropriate board member for review. Responses will be made either directly or through community message within 2-5 business days. You are also welcome to attend monthly board meetings and speak during public comment as listed on the agenda.
