In an attempt to streamline much of the money handling and our recurrent call for fees to cover field trips, art projects, class celebrations, technology and “specials,” the Arco Iris School Board approved at the June 2012 board meeting the implementation of a per-student Program Enrichment Fee. This fee was based on feedback collected in a parent survey, not only to assist in establishing the amount but also how and where to allocate the funds.
Program Enrichment Fees will help Arco Iris provide students with additional activities, specialized supplies, and access to professional content specialists. These are activities not ordinarily provided for or paid for by the school, but by fees and donations covered by our parent community. These funds are allocated specifically for enrichment purposes only and not for general office supplies, teaching manipulatives, operating costs, or staff salaries.
Some examples of items the Program Enrichment could be used for are as follows:
The Program Enrichment nonrefundable Fee is $350 per student for the current academic year and is payable by check, cash or credit card. There is a $50 discount if paid before the first day of school. If you prefer to pay by credit card, you can do so during the school supply drop off night. Checks should be made out to Arco Iris. Please note that fees are Non-refundable.
