Welcome to a Fabulous School Year,

My name is Ms. Walter and I get to be your child's English Language Arts teacher this year!  I’ll be teaching your child’s class for forty minutes every school day in kindergarten and sixty minutes for third grade.

I have been teaching in public schools since the turn of the century and am happy to be working at a public charter school this year, more specifically, Arco Iris! 

I live in Sherwood and have a daughter who is in tenth grade and a son who is in ninth.   We have a dog named Simba that my son picked out at a rescue shelter last summer. Simba has turned out to be the most well-trained an cuddly dog we've ever had. 

Also, I'm a big fan of Ms. Frizzle from "The Magic School Bus" book series and see her as a tremendous inspiration for my teaching.  I plan to integrate a lot of science, social studies, and fine arts with all the English Language Arts that your child will be learning this year which will be super engaging and fun!
