Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Arco Iris has specific procedures for student drop-off and pick-up. Please review, especially the enclosed maps that show traffic patterns and parking details. There are two options: 1) Curbside drop-off, 2) Park and walk in.

Our school day begins at 8:30 am.  Unless your child is enrolled in our before school program (7:00 am – 8:30 am), please do not drop off your child before 8:15 am.  Parents dropping off students before 8:15 a.m. should park in the main parking lot and check their child in for before school care. Parking for up to 34 bicycles is available near the play structure.

Buenas Tardes morning drop off: Park and walk your student to the Wilson St. entrance. A staff member will be at the entrance between 7:00-7:15am waiting for early drop off. If you arrive after that time please call 971-217-1645 to be let into the building

For on-time arrivals: You may either 1) park in the main parking lot and walk your child into school, or 2) curb-side drop-off at the west side door.  We will have staff or a parent volunteer at the door greeting children. Please see the attached map for an illustration of traffic flow patters, the main parking lot, and location of morning drop-off.

We expect that many parents will want to walk their child into school the first day! We will have a host of volunteers directing parents into the school, parking lot, etc. for the entire first week of school while we all get into the new routine. Please, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to post a comment here or email the office.

Our school day ends at 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  In order to keep our students secure, parents or a preauthorized adult must pick up their child 3:30 p.m. Students not picked up by 3:45 p.m. will be walked to the Buenas Tardes program. Late fees will apply. Please be on time. Thank you!

On-Time Pick-Up: Like previous years, parents are required to park and walk to the building to pick up students at the end of the school day. Please park in the “Park and Walk” area as designated on the map. This is the same parking area for morning parking. Please do not park in front of the bike racks or in front of the main door.

IMPORTANT – Students will be lined up with their classroom in the gymnasium. Teachers will bring them into the gym at 3:30 and will release each student individually to a parent or other authorized adult. Please wait patiently until your child reaches the front of the line to be released by their teacher. See End of day dismissal in gymnasium for an illustration and more information

Students not picked up by 3:45 will be brought to Buenas Tardes. Fees will apply. If the doors into building C are locked, please ring the doorbell (located between building C doors) or call our cellphone number posted on the door.

Buenas Tardes Pick-up: Students enrolled in Buenas Tardes will be picked up at their classrooms at 3:30 by our staff and brought directly to the Buenas Tardes room. When you arrive to pick up your child, please park and walk to the Wilson Street entrance and call 971-217-1645 when you arrive. Parents are expected to pick up their children no later than 6:00pm or a late fee will be charged.

Early pick-up: If you have an appointment and need to pick your child up from school early, please let the office and your teacher know. We will make sure he/she is ready to go and will pick your child up at the classroom upon your arrival.

The exterior doors into the school will be locked during the day unless we have someone at the desk in the lobby. Please ring the doorbell (located between the building C doors) and someone will come let you in.

Parking Lot Speed Limit: We are asking parents to maintain a speed of 5 mph or under in the parking area. We also ask that you please drive the perimeter of the parking lot when entering and exiting our school. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH THE PARKING SPACES and cut across the lot when you are leaving. Safety is our top priority!
